It's all about the technology!

Look who was monkeying around in our classroom today! Snowflake had a great view of everyone from the flagpole. No one thought she was fake today...phew!
We had a visit from some 2nd graders this morning to perform a Gingerbread Man reader's theater. How perfect was that since we've been studying gingerbread men all week?

The Gingerbread Man is in the orange shirt. I can see an Oscar in his future!

We worked on building -ed words again today. They did great by adding some blends as well, like "shred" and "shed"!

During Centers time today, the kids were soooo quiet that I was able to sneak around and snap pics of them. I LOVED how Nicholas and Chloe were being so cooperative while playing the Shape Race game!

I don't know why this is turned...grr!!! But the kids were so excited to see the reindeer cam today because there was an elf there! Zachary has been great with reminding me to checkin on the reindeer cam at 10:00 everyday. :)
Again, I have NO clue why these pics are turned becuase they aren't on my computer!!! But I had to share with you all that Santa came early in my classroom a few weeks ago!!! I've been working on trying to get more iPads in my classroom as these are FABULOUS for my little friends to learn their basic reading/writing skills. A few weeks ago, I magically had 4 new mini iPads appear in my classroom from one of Santa's elves!!!
Adam worked on correctly writing his alphabet.

Aubriana got to listen to the letter sounds and practice writing them.

I love this sweet pic of Emilio and Rachel listening to another version of The Gingerbread Man.

Jessica did a great job with our word scavenger during Write Around the Room time. She's been out for a few days, but quickly picked up on the fun word hunt.

During Writing Workshop, we worked on identifying complete sentences. I think they're starting to get the hang of finding them!

Avaleigh was really concentrating! :)

I got this Gingerbread "happy" from our sweet aide, Mrs. Diggs, a few days ago. I had to share the Gingerbread cookies with my sweet Kinders since we've been talking about it all week.
Most of them liked their cookie!

After they took one bite, we graphed to see where everyone took their first bite. Most of them followed the expression of "Off with his head!" Zachary, however, got rid of the head and arm!

We learned that more people ate the head first rather than the arm or leg. Then they realized that we could write a new number sentence of 15>4>2. Wow!

In Social Studies this month, we're learning about holiday traditions around the world. Today we talked about Christmas in the US and talked about some of the different traditions that we all do. Adam did a great job of drawing some presents to show us that his family exchanges presents during Christmas.

In math, we found objects that were heavier and lighter than our water bottles.

The kids got really clever with this!
