Lots of wind and a class Christmas party...what a crazy fun day!

Could you believe the wind last night and this morning?!?! I've been teaching the class different songs to be able to spell some weather words...today I finally got to use "The Windy Song"!

I had a visitor first thing this morning from one of my former big kids. I love getting to see them and see how much they grow!

Emilio brought us some more things for his show-n-tells. Today he wanted to show us how he celebrates the holidays with Baby Jesus and "Mary" (aka one of the 3 wise men).

We learned about syllables today using some holiday words. It took a little practice for them to catch on, but they really got the hang of it after we did it with a lot of words! Ask your kiddos about syllables over the break!

With the wind being so strong today, I had a little visitor for a little while this afternoon because his school lost power!

I snapped this pic below of the boys watching A Charlie Brown Christmas while I was doing report card assessments. They were really into the movie!

Then they caught me taking pics!

We had a fabulous party this afternoon!!! THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH to all of the parents that helped plan, supply, and participate!!!! I think the party went real smooth due to your support!

The kiddos loved eating their pizza IN the room!

Breanna somehow figured out that I LOVE Diet Coke. Ha! She brought me an entire basket of DC!

After pizza, we decorated SUGAR cookies. The kids had a little too much fun with the sprinkles. But like I've said before, the messier, the better! I sure hope your kids were able to wind down tonight pretty easily!

After all of our messes, we played name BINGO. The kids were super excited to see their names on the card, along with Snowflake the Elf's name. The game was such a hit that we played 3 rounds! Thanks, parents, for helping the kids sound out the beginning sounds of their friends names! See...you can still learn while partying, right?

Lezlie, the birthday girl, had a visit from her big sister this afternoon. I love how Lezlie's smile goes from ear to ear!

Elisa mad this CUTE little Chapstick holders with the help of her mom. Can I just tell you how impressed I am?!?! I don't even know how to thread a needle!

Our last activity and probably the aweetest one to watch was the book exchange. They had to pass the book that they were holding to their left every time they heard the word "gingerbread" in the book The Gingerbread Man Goes to School. Lets just say that gingerbread=giggly little Kinders!

Wes' mom offered to read the book to the class while they played. I was so impressed with their listening ears!

I hope that everyone enjoys their new book that they brought home today!

After all of the fun, the kids surprised me with this SUPER ADORABLE plate with their thumbprints for the lights along with some other goodies. I must admit that I got a little teary-eyed form this sweet surprise and am soooo impressed that no one ever spilled the beans!

I hope that your child came home with their surprise for you. We had fun making these cute keepsakes. And I love how they all turned out so adorably different!

Only one more day....don't forget to send your kiddo in their warm pjs tomorrow!

Tacky Sweater Wedensday

Today was Tacky Sweater Wednesday for the Roberts staff. Can you believe that these were worn for real serious a while back?!?! Luckily, I have a stash from family members and was able to share with Mrs. Hardin! The kids LOVED our sweaters and kept commenting how pretty they were all day. Ha!
One of our little Kinder friends

One of our Kinder friends brought some fruit for me, Mrs. Glover, and Mrs. Hardin today. I can honestly say that this was my first apple to receive as a teacher!

Since we've been learning about electricity this month, we had Elizabeth's dad come talk to us from Entergy.

I think the kids really enjoyed getting to learn more about energy and electricity.

They learned about the negative/bad side of wires...

And the positive/good side of wires. Most importantly, they learned not to play with wires!

Today during Library, each child was able to pick out one book to keep thanks to the PTA! Avaleigh was super happy to get to write her name in her book!

Nicholas was happy that he still got to check out a train book as well!

I love watching them read!

These two cuties discovered first thing this morning that they had matching shoes and begged me all day to take a pic...of course at the times that I was teaching though. Ha! So I finally took a pic of them after Library and they insisted I take a pic of their "matching" books too. ;)

Here's another shot of us lovelies all dolled up in our festive garb! Do you have your holiday attire planned yet! If not, I'm sure you can borrow some great options from one of us! ;)

Don't forget that our party is tomorrow! We will begin at 12:40!

I started off the morning with more happys! Alexee wanted me to have a Diet Coke...hilarious!

Lezlie was the teacher of the day. She was so proud of herself for spelling the month and the weather all by herself! She then did a great job of helping us figure out that the 79th day of school was odd!

We reviewed -et words again today and were able to use some of the new words in sentences. Adam did a great job with sounding out his word "pet"!

We then played "Hot Potato" for Phonics with some word families...the kids LOVE this game and have improved so much since we last played it in October!!!

I know this picture is hard to see, but I had to share a pic of our disruption today. If you look at the very back of the parking lot, you can see a horse carriage! My horse-lover, of course, first saw it so we all had to take a break from centers to go see the Pre-Kers.

This afternoon, we had a visitor stop by. I loved how helpful Nolan was with Caleb (Nicholas' brother)!
