A Fantastic Friday!

Even though lots of my little friends were out sick today, we had a great day of learning today!

The kids did a great job at figuring out the missing letters in the alphabet with our Alphafriends!

The kids got to pick a character from one of this week's read alouds to write about what the character was doing (insert VERBS). As you can tell, our new favorite friend came back to our room with his new book, Pete the Cat.

Some of the kids chose a goodie, Mrs. Wishy-Washy. Talk about some fun in the mud!

Wes did a great job with sounding out his words.

Chloe chose to tell several things that Pete did. Great job!

During math, we reviewed 2D shapes by playing BINGO. Thanks, Zachary's mom, for this fun happy! This table was all smiles after they won the first round.

I love the teamwork as they tried to differentiate between an octagon or hexagon!

I hope y'all have a great weekend and enjoy the beautiful weather!

Good things come in small packages!

We've been learning about the letters X and J, measurement, and verbs this week. Aubriana did a great job with showing us how to correctly write an x from top to bottom.

Alexee and Nolan got to use my Wikki Stix to help us find some verbs in Mrs. Wishy-Washy.

Then we traced our feet to help us find objects that were shorter and taller than our foot. The kids had fun getting to carry their feet around. Ha!

Check out Elisa's drawing of hand sanitizer and scissors. Great job!

Once we got our shoes back on, we worked hard on lining up from shortest to tallest. Meet our small fries!

Here's our medium-sized Kinders.

And here's our tall group!

An action filled Wednesday with verbs

Mrs. Signaigo came to our room today and read one of my favorite stories...You Are Special. She then gave them star stickers on their faces to remind them to be compassionate to other.

We worked on finding verbs in our class today. Adam did great with writing a verb on the board.

Our horse lover, Jessica, got to write about the horse. I love the word choice and the sounds she heard!

I'm always proud of my PE star students, too! Way to go Aubriana and Nicholas!

We are thankful!

The kids have been brining in their thankful cornucopias this week and doing a wonderful job of sharing them with the class. I can't wait to see what everyone is brings tomorrow!

Zachary is thankful for his family and dog. He's also thankful for his friend that lives in North Carolina that used to go to school here last year.

Chloe told us that she's thankful for her Chinese family. Let me be the first to tell you that she is PROUD of her family!

Lezlie is thankful for some very important things that we all take for granted at times...sun and the sea because they help plants grow.

I'm thankful for my FABULOUS, supportive parents this year! Aaron's mom got us clipboards so that we can all do our work together.

The kids loved getting to use the clipboards and did a great job with learning about the -op word family.

I love how the clipboards magically made them concentrate even harder! ;) Isn't this a cute pic of my hardworking Kinders?

I'm also thankful that I got to go to my son's Thanksgiving feast today at lunch. Benjamin is the one at the bottom of the picture. He was so excited and surprised to see me at his lunch...this is his new "cheese" face for the camera.

Wes' mom came into the class for a little bit after recess and read to them and taught them how to play "Heads Down, Thumbs Up, Time to Play 7 up". The kids loved it! Thanks Ms. Beth!

A Thanksgiving feast and computers

I am so glad to be back! After being out for four days due to professional development, I've missed these little cuties! And what a way to start right back to work with a Thanksgiving program! Thanks to Adam's mom, my kiddos got some great help with practice while I was out. And thanks to Alexee's mom, Wes' mom, and Zachary's mom for making out cute pilgrim (or settlers as we learned today) costumes!

Getting ready for the curtain call.

Videos of their performance.

Unfortunately, the show started before I could to the other side of the room. But our class is toward the left of the screen.

Sowing off their cute collars.

Thanks to everyone for coming this morning to watch our skit! The kids were excited to share our songs and to get to eat lunch with you all!

Isn't Avaleigh's dress perfect for today?

This afternoon, the kids had some fun time in Computer Lab. They got to play Math BINGO and Type Rocket. How old were you when you learned keyboarding? Ummm....I'm pretty sure that I didn't learn that until 6th grade! They're way ahead of me!

Lezlie got the highest score of 62 playing Type Rocket.

She even beat her own high score with 65!

You can let your kids play this at home on abcya.com.

Don't forget that their Thankful cornucopias are due this Friday. I've already received a few and we have enjoyed getting to hear what they're thankful for!
