Day 79

We ended 2013 in Kindergarten with a fun day of movies and stories! I also got a few more goodies from my sweet sweet friends!

We had several fifth graders (most of them were in my 3rd grade class a few years ago) pop in and out of my room to read to my sweeties.

Aaden even brought a book for us to read...he even read part of it for me!

We watched Polar Express...that was the quietest I've heard this group in a long time! 😃 They loved it!

We even got to go to the library to listen to more of "my grown up friends" read to them!

I sent all of my friends home with a Winter book for them to read during their Winter break. I hope they enjoy it! And I hope that you all have a great break together!

Tis the season to be busy and have fun!

I first want to say how blessed I am to have such sweet kiddos and such supportive parents!!! Max brought in three hand-knitted blankets from one of his moms friends yesterday for the blanke drive. So sweet!

Janya showed us the books that she checked out from the main library. I reminded them that they can do that during the Christmas break, too!

Mrs. Weather met with the class yesterday. She talked to them about being compassionate.

We've been working on skip counting during calendar math. They love doing this!

They worked on wrapping their parent gifts yesterday. I surprisingly didn't have to help one bit with any of it! I LOVED their wrapping jobs!!! And I loved how they were so willingly to help each other an didn't want my help!

They even made their own cards for the presents. I gave them a few phrases to choose from and they did the rest.

After all of our holiday prepping, we enjoyed the beautiful sunny day yesterday afternoon.

Today was such a fun-filled day! I truly was spoiled by all of my goodies from my sweet friends!!!

A girl can never have too many red piggies right?

Sean chose a Statue of Liberty ornament for me since my father-in-law, who read to us last week, is from NYC. I love the thoughtfulness!!!!

They're really getting the hang of skip counting! Kevin did a great job with helping us count!

We got to watch the second graders perform their musical, Flakes. We have the best music teachers! And we leavers what a snirt is...be sure to ask your sweetie!

We made one more card before our party this afternoon. Aren't they cute?

Today was tacky sweater day for the staff. Sadly, I ha a few too many options and couldn't decide which one to wear so I let the class vote. But they couldn't decide because they said I was dressed so beautifully. Ha!

I think it was the earrings that they liked so much!

We finished our gingerbread unit today by writing complete descriptive sentences. Wow!

Macy brought me a beautiful poinsettia!

Cason brought my new baby...er...uh....puppy a gift card to go shopping. I'm speechless about this! Holly Bell is going to be the best dressed pup around!

Emma was dressed so appropriately forte play this morning. Her preset even matched!

She was so excited to show me the chocolate! 😜

Max gave me the yummiest smelling candle!

Thank you to all of the moms do letting me sneak a quick peek on Mary Elizabeth's party!!!

The kiddos talked about dressing up for the party. Sean wore a bow tie and Shona wore a fancy dress.

Thank you for helping today be a great day! I'm so lucky to be able to have such fun with my kiddos and obviously my co-workers! Merry Chrismas!

Don't forget that pj day is tomorrow! Woohoo!!!

Can you believe this is our last week of school for 2013??? Time is flying!!!!

So I haven't been keeping up with the blog this past week because of my new little home addition...Holly Bell Dees!

Ava brought me a fun ice cream sundae goodie box yesterday. I can't wait to use all of these fun goodies!

Maya's Pop Pop made me the yummiest toffee I've ever had and she wrote me a sweet little note!

This week we're reviewing so I thought it would be fun to review with Pete the Cat and find at words.

Mrs. Jenkins came in to our class yesterday and read The Mitten to us. I love this sweet story!

Shona did a great job with Mrs. Jenkins' activity.

Ethan, from Mrs. Hardin's class, came to read to us.

During snack time yesterday, my cuties decided to do an impromptu joke telling session. Pretty funny to hear a bunch of Kinders tell knock knock jokes!!!

After snacks, they worked on retro king the gingerbread man story.

Cash and Cason were chosen for the character word, compassion, this month. Way to go!

Miss Mariana brought me this beautiful scarf first thing this morning. So warm!!!

During around today, Max ad Mariana wrote about what Christmas really is. So sweet!

Then we worked on building ginger read sentences.
