Day 47

What a day we had yesterday!!! Some moms came to help set up for the "Hop Sock" first thing in the morning, so my class improvised with our learning style because our tables were moved to the flex space...they were such troopers about it!!! And the learning show still went on in the room!

Check out our cuties from the fifties!

We love getting visitors from other classes! A few friends from Mrs. Glover's class came to show off their hard work.

Max had a special doctor visit that he wanted to tell us all about. His use of vocabulary words to describe his experience were amazing!!!

Lilly did a "costume change" from her razorback outfit to her poodle skirt after lunch.

Sean and Janya were the PE all stars. Woohoo!

We had an amazing day and a great time hand jiving! I just had too good of a time that I didn't snap any pix...I hope that some of you can send me some of your photos to post on the blog. Thank you for everyone's help by either sending supplies, dressing up your kiddos, or coming to hang out during the Sock Hop!

My cow folks helped me sort pictures by ending sounds...they did great!

I introduced the "it" word family and they did great with writing it rhyming words!

Who knew that Woody was such a great reader? 😃

My informative buddy, Ethan, came to visit from Mrs. Hardin's room. He share his story that he wrote about coyotes. Wow!

We worked on comparing/contrasting pumpkins and apples. They did a great job writing complete sentences!

I love this group of cowboys and Indians working on their writing! 😃

Mariana helped us learn our new vocab words by showing us how to leap. This little ballerina was all grins from ear to ear after showing us how to leap!

I had a cute group of Western folk help give drugs the boot today for Red Ribbon Week!

Little Miss Ava was Mrs. West's art assistant today. Great job!

Days 44 & 45

We started the week off with reviewing the ap word family. They did great with writing words that rhyme with cap!

We learned the sight words a, at, and it and discovered that we could write new words using at and it! I love seeing their light bulbs pop up in their heads!!!

In reading, we're focusing on finding details in a story. Yesterday I read the book Move to talk about details and we discussed how animals move. But I first started with letting them get their wiggles out by showing me how they move to Madagascar's song, "Move it"....so cute to see their dance moves!!!

In writing, we learned about adjectives. We focused on color words.

This week is Red Ribbon Week, so they got to dress as rock stars yesterday to rock out drugs. They were some cool rock stars!

I had to showcase Cason's shirt! It not only had tattoos, but chest hair sticking out of it! Ha! Ha! Ha!

Keith was our Music star yesterday! So proud of him!

Today we started off with "important business". We had to vote on a name for the traveling eagle that will go to the winning class for the most box tops. After some very clever name suggestions, we finally narrowed it down to these two names, but "Brittany" won! I wonder if our name will be the chosen one for the traveling trophy. ;)

During Chit Chat, we reviewed rhyming words with short a. They did an awesome job!

We sorted short a and I words again today.

For Red Ribbon Week, we got to wear sunglasses because our future is so bright without drugs!

We had a visitor today! Greg Dee, Ch. 4's meteorologist, spoke to the entire Kindergarten about weather. All nine classes were on their best behavior! He told me that he was amazed with how attentive they all were! Woohoo!

Their favorite part whenever we have a visitor...question time!

Each class got to say "Hey Greg, what's the weather going to be like today?" For Greg's morning weathercasts next week. They will air all next week on Ch. 4 at 6:14 and 6:44 AM. Our class is scheduled to air NEXT Friday, November 1st.

Don't forget that tomorrow is western day to give drugs the boot!

Day 43

This morning was the Kids with Character assembly for responsibility. I had the privilege of actually getting to go because Mary Elizabeth was chosen for her class. So I snapped a few pics of Keith and Macy. Way to go guys!

Back in class, Aaden helped u find some I words. He did great with pointing to the words!

We used bears to help us sound out words.

Today was crazy sock day. There were some CUTE and crazy socks! They loved getting to work in centers with their shoes off, too!

We had another visit from Mighty Mary to announce that we are in the lead for the entire Kindergarten grade!

So that means we earned some more incentives!

And some more prizes!

I love the pure sweetness of Kinders! Addison from Mrs. Hardin's class wrote me a note today! So sweet!

In reading we learned what ruffled means. Check out these sassy girls sporting their ruffles! 😃

We're still working on sensory details, so they helped me use sensory words to describe animals.

Gray was chosen as Mrs. West's art assistant. Woohoo!

I hope you all got a chance to go the carnival tonight. I had in getting to see a bunch of my Team Dees members from the past and present! It was fun to have share this with my own fam too!

Mary Elizabeth was a great helper!

I hope y'all have a great loooong weekend! Don't forget that next week is Red Ribbon week. Here's the schedule of spirit days in case you misplace your flier. I look forward to seeing y'all at conferences on Monday!
