Day 94

First thing this morning, we learned that we got Retro Cafe AGAIN!!! I have to admit that it brought a year to my eyes when we saw this man come in with our tags!!!


Mariana was our teacher today and did a "fantabulous" job of fixing up our sentence!


I introduced them to "op" words today so we worked on finding "og" and "op" words.


Mrs. Jenkins came to work on classifying again today. They loved this!








During writing, we worked on past tense verbs. I love that two of my cuties included my mining jogging routine into their writing! I think they were as excited as I was that I got to run this morning considering its been so cold lately! 😃





In math, we worked on finding sums of 6 and 7. Then I introduced a cute addition game to them. They worked so well together on finding different sums!!!

Day 93

I love that Mariana always shares her amazing talent with me! And she started my day off by giving me a beatific picture of a ballerina!


We learned all about the "bl" blend this week. As I was handing out papers for phonics, Rasikh noticed that they were getting a BLank piece of paper. Love the connection!


BLank is boring so we created BLobs! They LOVED this and they all told me they were going home to make more blobs!





I love this pic of Kevin working hard on finding sums of 10! He was focusing so hard!


We reviewed adding to find other sums too. You can do this at home with one or two dice! They just roll it and add the numbers to the second dice.


During writing, we worked on writing letters. We talked about how a text is just a message, but a letter gives more detail and it has a few more pieces. They all did really great!





They even asked me to write one to Sophie since she's been out for a few days.

Day 92

I was too excited for my Kinder friends this morning that I didn't snap any pix before lunch! But I'm sooooo proud that they finally got to go to Retro Cafe again!!!











We worked on future tense verbs and correct usage of sight words.


We also worked even harder on sums of 10, but I didn't snap any pix o that either because we were working do hard! However, I'm proud to say that Ava got the Art eagle!

Day 91

We worked more on blends today.





And found our sight words.











Since its been too cold for outside recess, I always make sure they get there wiggles out after lunch. "Herman the worm" is one of their new faves to dance to!


We focused on the authors purpose of a story again.


And we found more sums of 10.


We had a few friends from Mrs. Stevenson's class today. Vann helped us determine if objects were magnetic or not.


I let the kiddos have extra center time this afternoon instead of having outside PAT time. They were doing al sorts of math without me even instructing them...I loved it!

Day 90

We had a great start back yesterday. And we kicked off the week with focusing on the "bl" blend.





I showed them what blurry meant. They thought it was so cool!


During reading groups, we found some sight words.





And we learned new sight words.


During reading, we're talking about the authors purpose. After our read aloud yesterday, we talked about how the author might want us to describe the story. I love how Lilly described it!


We worked hard in writing about penguins. Check out this concentration!


I wish this pic of Gray was a little more clear, but I was so proud of him for writing two complete sentences!



During math, we worked on sums of ten.





Kevin was chosen as the music all star yesterday. Woohoo!
