Apples, counting to 5, and testing our health

Each morning a Kindergartener is chosen to hold the flag for the morning news. Sophia was chosen from my class last Monday!
We learned about the letter N, so we had to make necklaces!
Our sight word last week was "and". The kids did a great job with coming up with words that even had the word "and" in it!
All last week, we focused on ways to make 5. They did a great job!
All of the kids got screened for hearing and vision. They did a great job with being patient in line!
We're focusing on apples so we made a word map to help us figure out what apples are/have/make. Check out Jack G's concentration!
Sophia was chosen as our music star for the week. Way to go!
Maddie was chosen as the flag holder Wednesday morning. Yay for Team Dees!
The kids counting is getting so much faster! Jack helped us figure out the date.
MaKayla and Rylee worked on labeling their apples that they painted. Great job!
We worked in building our motor skills by making these cute apples! I love how they all turn out so differently!
Later in the week, we also learned about the letter Ff last week and continued to focus on ways to make 5.
Thursday night was or Watch D.O.G dads kickoff. I know the kids will be looking forward to seeing their dads volunteer at the school this year!
We got to go upstairs last week for BMI testing. They were so excited to go on an adventure! We had to sit quietly in the hallway so I let them use their color creativity and color our character word of the month...respect. They all did a great job while waiting for their turn!
I love how careful they all were coming back down the stairs! They loved getting to see where the big kids spend their day too!
On Friday, I shared my highlighters with them so they could spy letters F and N. They love getting to use all of the "fun tools"!
We did a taste test of red, green, and yellow apples Friday afternoon. I loved watching them eat the sour ones! But surprisingly the majority of them like the yellow apples the best!

Grandparents Day week

King Noah was our final King for the Day onondag. He was so excited to show and tell us all about his Pokemon cards and toys!!!
Pia helped us spell out new sight word.
We learned all about nouns last week. They did great deciding if the noun was a person, place, or a thing!
We learned about the letters C and P. MaKayla did a great job writing her letters!
The kids are getting much more comfortable using the mouse in computer lab!
Grandparents Day Was such a hit on Thursday! I loved getting to meet everyone's families!!!
And the kids loved getting to walk around the book fair!
We're learning about numbers in math. I think I've got some pretty smart mathematicians on my hands! 😀
On Friday, the kids got to use their "offices" to "take a test" for letter identification. They felt so grown up.
But they, of course, had to go use their energy outside after their tests!
I hope you all had a great weekend and are starting to enjoy these cooler temps!

Hard working Kinders

We start every morning with our daily "Chit Chat". We cover so many things in this short little bit and the kids love it...especially when they get to use my smell good markers!
King Daniel shared with us that he's very good at using chopsticks and karate!
We've been working on the correct path of movement with all of our letters. They're starting to catch on!
This week's color word was yellow. Have they been singing it around the house? And our sight word was "like". They are so proud of themselves when they spot a sight word in our stories! Pia found it in our color song!
King Jaydin showed us his superhero costume and read his baby book to is. So cute!!!
Every now and then our brains need to take a break and we need to get our wiggles out before working on anything else. One of my favorite things to do with my Kinders is go to gonoodle.com. This is something you and your family can login to at home as well. It's so fun and gets them moving!
We went to computer lab on Wednesday. The kiddos are getting the hang of using the mouse on the computer and not touching the screen nearly as much as the first week! Ha!
We're almost finished with our King/Queen of the Day and I sure can tell that everyone is starting to feel way more comfortable with each other! Queen Abby did a great job of modeling her dress up clothes and leading is in cheering her name!
We have fully gotten into work stations this week and they're doing a great job of diving right into their tasks! I loved watching Khamari "reading" one of our nursery rhymes!
MaKayla and Ian were the MVPs for Coach D this week. Great job guys!

Another great week in Team Dees

Queen Gracie did a fantastic job of modeling her cowgirl outfit for show and tell!
We got to visit the library again. They loved it! They learned all about how to check out books and the different parts of a book.
They even got to do some work on the smart board!
How cute is this?!?! Pis and her twin brother were both the king/queen for their classes on the same day!
I stayed late at work one day this past week and spotted this on my way out of the building this week. Isn't it breathtaking?
Miss Abby was our flag holder for morning announcements this week!
Queen Khamari did an excellent job of showing us how to sing into her microphone for her show and tell!
Our friend Mrs. Jenkins came into talk to us about our special letters. She will come visit us every Friday to do an enrichment lesson for GT. we love it when she comes in!
I'm so proud of this guy! Jack G. Is always modeling our school motto..."Always do the right thing!"
William was so excited to be celebrating his birthday at school and to tell us all about his weekend birthday plans!
Sophia and Jack G were chosen as Coach D's MVP's. Way to go guys!
