Happy Thursday!

We reviewed the long o sound this morning so I had to show pics of my own kiddos getting to hold 3-day-old goats yesterday. We learned that goat has an OA vowel pair (watch out 3rd grade teachers! These cuties are ready!

Here's the class writing the word "code". Great job!

We then practices spelling words within words. Check out Adam's word "greet"...a 5-letter word!

During math, we did some counting and sorting practice with good 'ole plastic eggs. We were able to sort them and count them by groups of 10 then by 1s giving us a total of 126!

Miss Alexee was our teacher for the day and brought her guinea pig, Joey, for show and tell. So fun!

Zachary and Nicholas got to attend the Kids with Character assembly today for "courtesy". Way to go boys!

I hope y'all have a wonderfully long weekend!

The Princess and the Pea

We had a great time on our field trip this morning! The kids seemed to really like it!

The kids laughed at the picture for the play...they weren't quite sure what she was doing with the pea. Ha!

I had the privilege of sitting next to these two cuties on the bus ride back. I caught them planning a very serious adventure that they're going on. They told me they were going to move in together so they could have play dates everyday.

When we got back, we got to eat lunch in our classroom. So fun!

And we had a Watchdog Dad from our very own room...Elisa's "Papa Simon". Se was so proud!

Welcome back!

Wow! What a cold way to start back from Spring Break! But that didn't stop my cuties from getting right back into the swing of things! I enjoyed getting to hear about everyone's fun adventures from last week. I even got a few pics to share with them. The first one is a pic of Elisa and Wes playing soccer AGAINST each other. Ha! And the next one is a pic of Alexee and he grandpa fishing. She caught this rainbow trout all by herself! I'm way impressed with that considering all that I've ever caught is a stick and a paper cup. ;)

We started the morning with learning about the FR blend. And if you live in my house, you know all about this blend with the FResh Beat Band and the FR-FR-FReeze Dance. So we got to dance to that first thing this morning.

During Writing, we reviewed nouns with the good ole Schoolhouse Rocks "Nouns" video. Then we learned the difference between singular and plural nouns.

We learned that 3 FRiends are way better than being singular!

John was the Music star today. Whoop whoop!

Sony forget that we will be going on a field trip tomorrow morning!

Lucky that it's Friday!

I can't believe that after today we will officially be on Spring Break!!! I'm hoping that everyone gets some rest over the break!

Mr. Adam was our teacher for the day and he brought a special rock that he painted to show the class. Too cute!

We got to go watch "Willy Wonka" the musical (one of my most favorite stories of all times and not just because there is talk of chocolate!) in the dining room this morning. It was very impressive and fun to see several of my former 3rd graders perform!

When we got back from lunch, we found this note on the Smart Board. The kids were really confused until...

Aaron walked into the restroom and found the first mess, so all of the kids had to see what he was talking about. I promise that I didn't let anyone touch it!;)

Then the kids saw that Lucky the Leprechaun washed his hands and left evidence all over the sink!

Even though he was busy making messes all over my room, he was nice enough to leave the kiddos some magic white powder. He left me directions to follow a special recipe to make "Leprechaun Pudding". I let everyone pour their magic powder into the bowl he left, them I mixed it up with milk that was "left in the room".

They were so surprised that the powder turned into green pudding!

While they were enjoying their treat, they noticed more thing that Lucky left like the green dot on the ceiling (you know the one that marks where pipes are in located in the ceiling?). They think that is is where Lucky has been entering and exiting our room all week. Ha!

And can you believe this mess he made?

In case you're wondering how to recreate Leprechaun Pudding, here's. your special ingredient!

I hope y'all have a fantastic Spring Break!!!

Spring Break Eve!

You can definitely tell that Spring is almost here! The kids are so excited about their break and are telling me all about what they'll be doing next week. Don't be surprised if you find me hiding away in one of their suitcases! Just kidding! But seriously, I've heard about plans to going to train yards, to the moon, and to fairy castles. Ha! How could I not love my job with these imaginations!

We have started over in our Teacher of the Day rotation. So I'm letting the teacher bring one show and tell item for their day. I have to admit that I didn't remind Mr. Nolan for his day yesterday, so he brought his today. The kids were mesmerized by magic track!

Miss Aubriana brought her special bear that Santa brought her. I was excited to finally meet "Sierra" that I've heard so much about!

Today during Chit Chat, we reviewed number bonds with the number 7. The kiddos are doing great with thinking of different ways to get the sum!

I introduced these shamrock cards yesterday for Phonics. The kids are LOVING them! I think the shamrocks gave them some kind of spelling magic! They did a great job with stretching out short vowel sounds!

During writing, I read a persuasion story about why mice would make a nice pet. My opinion...yuck! No way! However, most of my cuties disagreed with and agreed with the author. So I think now almost everyone wants a mouse for a pet!

Don't forget to have your kiddos wear green tomorrow! Maybe or maybe not a leprechaun might visit the room tomorrow again!

Mr. Nolan was the teacher for today. He did a great job with our new "morning Chit Chat" time!

We reviewed the middle sound within words. Emann did great with figuring out the missing EE in keep!

During Shared Reading, the kids thought that the leprechaun showed up because our board kept turning into magic by spotlighting words. I love their innocence!

I then gave them a copy of the Shared Reading. They were so proud of themselves for being able to read "leprechaun"!

During Phonics, we reviewed the "cr" and "dr" blends. We were able to add a bunch of new words to our lists. John showed us his drum and crayon. Way to go!

Rachel showed us a crystal and drink.

During Writing, we talked about having our own opinion and learned what it means to agree or disagree with someone. I read them a story about the Kindergarten teachers and their opinions on which color of the rainbow is the best. They had to agree or disagree with each teacher and be able to tell me why. Below they are showing me their opinion.

Then they met with their partner to tell them which teacher they agreed with and why.

Then they had to write their opinion.

We just got to checkout books today in Library. So I gave them a chance to build their stamina and read their new books in the classroom. I love watching them read for fun!

In Computer Lab, they got to work on Poisson Rouge. They love this website!
