Fun with manipulatives

One of the first things with exploring math is how to properly use our math manipulatives (aka math tools). These may just look like toys to you, but these snap cubes are powerful tools. Today I let them learn how to use them and create whatever they want. What a creative class!

Emilio made a US army craft plane.

Nicholas framed his dazzling smile.

Chloe made a horse.

Rachel made a purple horse.

Elisa was working on a colorful unicorn.

Aaron built a giant plane.

King Adam was busy just exploring and making patterns.

Aubriana tried to build a tall tower without it crashing.

Have heard your child use the word "manipulative" yet? I often get tongue tied trying to say it, so I LOVE hearing my Kinders try to roll it out of their mouths.

Practice, practice, practice makes perfect

The first week of school always consists of practicing all our rules...even walking in the hallway correctly and playing on the playground together. I think they're getting the hang of it! :)

I'm in Kindergarten and I'm lovin' it!

I'm so excited that I got to spend my first day of Kindergarten with these cuties! I think we're going to have a great year!
