Mr. Adam did a great job with helping us review sight words in our shared reading today!
During Phonics, Aaron thought of the word blimp before I ever showed the picture for our "bl" words. Wow!
We had a visit this morning from our most AWESOME papr pro, Mrs. Diggs. She was helping our Kinder friends find some of their belongings. This is a daily problem. Please make sure that you label your child's belongings if you haven't done so already.
Ok, back to Phincs...Mr. Adam did a great job helping is with our "bl" picture sort too.
The kids did greta with working with their partners to do their picture sorts, too.
After Phonics, we took a few minutes to work on Valentine cards. Check out Avaleigh's. left hand!
And Wes'! That's all I can show you for this cuteness right now!
Durning Writing, we worked on another How To story. Do you know how to make a paper heart? Better yet. Do you know how to explain how to do it? These cuties do!
After we discussed it and realized that you can't write about showing it with your fingers, they worked really great with their groups on explaining the steps.
Here ya go in case you need to make a heart! First, you fold the paper. Next, you make a 2. Then, you cut the two out. Last, you open the heart.
During Social Studies, we've been learning about why we are about on Monday...for Presidents Day (or conferences in the teacher's case). Since Honest Abe's birthday was yesterday, we've been leaning about this tall guy. Do you know where he hid important papers? Ask your little one!
We also had a visit from my former 3 graders. They've been itching to come read to my little friends!mmh Kinders said that these "Misses" were the best readers ever. Ha!
I love getting to see my former students!
We didn't go to computer lab today, so I gave them extra computer or iPad time after they finished their work this afternoon. Have you gone to the send a patient a Valentine link on Arkansas Children's website? We got to send cards via the Internet to the patients at ACH. You can do this at home or work too. The kids loved the idea of making a patient smile since they wouldn't be able to make it to their own Valentine party.
After all of our work today, I got to play my new song I downloaded for my own kids recently. We seriously dance to "Gangnam Style" practically every night. I finally found the Kidz Bop version so I can share it with my Kinders. Yeah!
John showed us how to do some of the Gangnam Style moves. So fun!
Don't forget that our party is tomorrow at 1:00!

The card idea for the patients at ACH is such an awesome idea! Alexee was excited to tell me about it on the way home from school that day. Thank you for all you do!
