Miss Ava was the queen today. We learned that she likes dinos and she received a basketball trophy. Wow!
During shared reading, we identified capital letters. They're getting good at spotting them!
Today we had a visit from Mrs. Weeter, our counselor. We learned all about what her job is and she got to learn about the kids by having them complete a survey.
During writing today, the Kinders had to complete their first writin prompt. I love doing these throughout the year because it shows how much they've grown academically throughout the year. I was really excited that they all had something to draw/write about after I read the prompt to them! And a lot of them even attempted to "write" their story!!!
This one cracked me up! That's my writing, btw. 😃
After writing, I introduced to the class how to read to someone else. This is part of our Daily 5 that we'll be doing during center time. The kiddos did really good for their first time. They get to choose a "reading buddy" (aka stuffed animal) to read to or they can read to their partner.
I let a few go work on puzzles too. They loved that!
I love this pic of all four of them quietly reading to their bear!
This afternoon we went to computer lab. So before I took them down there, I showed them how to get onto the Internet and find Starfall.com.
Using a computer is a learned skill just like lea ring how to correctly hold a writing utensil. I love watching this group of kids try to touch the screen to make the icons work! And we have to keep working on using that mouse!
I hope y'all had a great day! We sure did!
