Day 71

It was so good to be back to see of my cute little friends today! I love hearing about everyone's icy days! Cash was so excited to hand me these Christmas goodies first thing this morning, too! He said that this box was two pounds of chocolate just for me! Ha!


And Miss Sophie made these yummy chocolate pretzels during the ice break with her daddy.


We're still focusing on the short e sound bit this week we were emphasizing words in "ed" family. They brainstormed some other words that rhyme with bed but didn't have the same spelling...the English language can be so tricky for Kinders when learning to spell! Bit I'm so proud of them!


Speaking of spelling, we have been working a cute reindeer writing and Miss Shona was writing about playing with reindeer today. She completely sounded out the "pl" blend and remembered that it rhymed with day (a word that we see in each day of the week). Wow! I just wish the picture showed her writing better!


We're focusing on gingerbread men this week so I shared one version of the story on my iPad where he gets eaten by the fox, then I showed Jack Hartman's song where he tricks the fox. You will probably hear your cutie singing the gingerbread man sing this week as it will get stick on their head! You can look Jack Hartman's song up on YouTube.





Our new sight words are are and now. Help them use them in sentences this week.


No outdoor recess today, so we needed some motor skills practice inside at the end of the day. Check out this fun mess we made with a cute project we're working on!


Mrs. Burrall had a Native American visitor from the Arts Center today. He shared some instruments that he made and played them for the class.

Day 70

Thank you for all of the blanket donations!!! I know some families will be very appreciative in the NICU during the holidays!





We received another shipment of book orders! Therefore we received a lot of new books for our class! I can't wait to share all of the books with them next week!


We worked more on blending phonemes...they are getting so excited that they can spell so many words!!! I love it! 😃

Day 69

Rasikh has been sporting a lot of badges this week so he's been letting us know all about them!


We're really getting the hang of sounding out words and spelling them! I'm proud of them!!!


We read an -et word family book and highlighted -et words. They loved it!


Shona's reading group worked on finding blends in their books.


For our reindeer focus, we made these cute reindeer that will hold our writing about reindeer. This is such a great way for them to develop their motor skills!








We enjoyed the beautiful weather this afternoon for PAT time. They love getting to work on their social skills, show me all of their tricks and show me their friends from other classes!





I had to share my Wal-Mart encounter with y'all from today! I just can't get over how funny this is!

Day 67

We had a busy busy day today! We are learning how to sing/spell December and we found some sight words along the way!


Miss Ava did a great job with writing December only after 2 days of learning the song!


We worked on sounding out words and then substituting beginning sounds to make rhyming words.


We then played an "et" word family match game. Looks like we'll be playing all week since they loved it so much!





Right before lunch this month, we check in to the North Pole to see Santa feeding his reindeer. Today we saw him feeding his turkeys and juggling! The discussions and reasoning that come out of these little Kinder minds is precious!





This week, we're working on writing complete sentences and I'm really trying hard to encourage them to not start with I like every time! So we made a list of what reindeer are/have/can then they had to write a complete sentence using our tee map.


Cason did a great job! He said that Reindeer can fly.


Lilly wrote a complex sentence by convince two thoughts. Wow!

Day 67

We had a great day back from our break! They were full of stories to share with me! Sophie brought some thing for our Rendezvous basket. So fun!


We learned all about the short e sound and will be focusing on the "ed" word family this week.





We're going to be learning about reindeer this week, too. My favorite!


Mrs. Jenkins came in today and talked to them about fairy tales as read Dinorella.


Then they got to create their own version of Dinorella.


After lunch we had a surprise visitor pop in!!!


Our elf left a note for us and asked for us to name her.


They came up with some funny names.


Then they narrowed it down to these three...and Power Puff won!


Our sight words this week are you and what. Help them out at home by asking them to use these words in sentences and try not to start the sentence with I like!

Since Turkey Day is tomorrow, we worked on some turkey words.





We love Cason's mom and dad! They come help out at lunch and recess everyday! Look what I caught the girls (plus cuddly Cason) doing today since we had indoor recess. So cute!


Since they didn't get to go outside, I showed them a few brain break videos. They love these because its so fun for them to dance and sing!


We have the best PTA! I found this in my box today!


Mariana was the music star! Woohoo!
